Providing
Emergency Command Operations Center (ECOC) video communications
support services.
Assisting
LBFD Fleet Operations with grant funded projects to transmit live
video feeds and interoperable radio communications from remote
command and communications vehicles to the ECOC, commanders and
other agencies.
Supervising
the LBFD Video Unit, producing, videotaping, directing, distributing,
coding and archiving videos and computer/web based training programs.
Project
technical lead for the LBFD Interactive Computer/Web Based Training
Program since 2001.
Providing
specialized on-location A/V support for Arson, Code Enforcement,
in-service training, recruit training, Human Resource examinations,
etc.
Managing
the Fire Departments 24 hr. cable TV channel for in-service training
and important specialized information.
Assisting
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with a video program
demonstrating how DHS units will deploy, bring specialized
resources and help reinforce responding emergency personnel in
certain major incidents.
Technical
lead for LBFD and the LA Area Fire Chiefs Association on a Urban
Area Security Initiative project to network regional training
classrooms with 2 way real time video and audio conferencing and
deliver interactive live and on-demand training to 34 fire departments
and every firefighter in Region 1.
Dr.
Richard L. Resurreccion
has been a life safety, technology and emergency management human
resource development consultant for over a quarter of a century.
He received his Doctor of Education degree from the University of
Maryland, College Park and is a member of five professional and
academic honor societies. Dr. Resurreccion is a California State
University, Long Beach Professor Emeritus; he has also taught at
the University of Maryland, College Park; California State University,
Los Angeles; the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and the University
of Hawaii, Manoa. He has been an HRD consultant for such organizations
as the Los Angeles City Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire Department,
Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Nevada Fire Chiefs'
Association, and the National Fire Academy/TRADE. He is past Chair
and Member (1985-87) of the Orange County Emergency Medical Care
Committee (EMS Commission) and served as a volunteer preceptor
training instructor for the Los Angeles County Paramedic Training
Institute (1983-93). He is Honorary Chief of the Clark County, NV
Fire Department and is the 1990 "Ed Bent Fire Service Instructor
of the Year."
Dr. Resurreccion's responsibilities include:
Conducting
instructional methods courses for Fire, Lifeguard and Emergency
Medical Services Personnel.
Advising
on the design of curriculum for the basic Fire
Academy and various officer development courses.
Priscilla
Gillott, clerical support for the LBFD Training Center. In 1991
she transferred from the Long Beach Police Chief’s office
to become a Fire Headquarters Receptionist. She held that position
until 1995. Later that year Ms. Gillot became the Disaster Management
Secretary and building facilitator at the ECOC. After nine years
experience with Disaster Management, she became the Training Center
Secretary on July 24, 2004.
Not only
is Priscilla hard working and dedicated to her job, she is also
a dedicated volunteer. She is a board member for Friends of the
Long Beach Firefighters, CERT secretary and board member of the
ICR Long Beach Marathon. Besides volunteering for several other
major Long Beach events, Priscilla is the proud mother of two married
siblings and has three adorable granddaughters.
